Lee’s Story
The Genuine Pizza Burger® Story
The genuine Pizza-Burger® was developed by Paul De Angelis in Muskego, Wisconsin, whose family has held the U.S. Patent since 1953. The combination meat and cheese sandwich was ahead of its time and was sold to drive-ins and mom and pop restaurants throughout the 1950’s, 60’s and 70’s. The unique flavor and popularity of the genuine Pizza-Burger® sandwich is still among the “staples” of customers who are now sharing the sandwich with their children and grandchildren – and even great-grandchildren.
Paul De Angelis often noted “Our sandwich is often imitated but never duplicated”. Second generation family owner/operators Dave and Trace De Angelis stated the genuine Pizza-Burger® sandwich has stood the “test of time”.
The franchise for 2000 East Wheeling Ave., Cambridge, Ohio, was originally owned by Mrs. Helen Fijalkowski from 1955-1965. Then Mr. Lee’s Restaurant took over for two years after which Marvin and David Orr held the franchise from 1967-1980. Mr. Lee’s Restaurant then again took over the franchise and has held it ever since.
