Mr. Lee’s Restaurant is a favorite gathering place for locals and with that comes a loyal customer base. Something that sets this local favorite aside from others is that the owner himself, Lee Scott, still works there daily and you can put a face with the name of the restaurant. It’s common to see Lee walking around the restaurant and in the back working. Lee Scott started in 1949 as a cook with the National Guard. Then in 1951 he became a cook for the Air Force and later in 1956 he was a mess cook for the Army. In 1957, Lee had the privilege of marrying his late wife, Thelma (passed May 26, 2014). That was the start of a marriage and partnership that has included 3 children, 6 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. To this day Lee, his 2 daughters, his granddaughter, and son-in-law/Manager, Ralph Ray, work at the restaurant keeping it a hometown favorite. When you walk into the restaurant you’ll instantly feel the comfortable, locally owned atmosphere. The workers will greet you with a smile and the service is exceptional. In 2003, Lee wanted to ensure there would be more seating available, so an addition was added that allowed for up to 100 more seats, bringing the seating total to 120. Not only can you sit down to enjoy a delicious meal, but the restaurant also offers a banquet facility that seats up to 125 people. The Lee’s welcome wedding receptions, class reunions, anniversaries, and corporate meetings. Just when you thought it couldn’t get any better for a locally owned, small town restaurant, they also offer a full catering service for on-site functions, or facilities are available for rent. This is a restaurant you’ve got to make a stop at if traveling through Cambridge, Ohio.
